This well-educated economist with a cushy job does not see the simplest solution to the Eurocrisis either. He sees three (only 3!) problems in the Euro area. The first two problems are actually one, an uncompetitive labor market for each of the effected countries. The next problem isn’t really the problem, but merely a symptom of the larger problem of low economic growth.
If this economist could just come to terms with the end of the euro, he could write a much better plan for solving the crisis, which I will do in an upcoming post.
